Diabetes Walk
To close out American Pharmacists Month, CUSP CSHP/ASHP collaborated with Coast Hills Pharmacy to raise diabetes awareness at the “Step Out Walk” hosted by the American Diabetes Association on October 22nd, 2016. Volunteers provided educational materials about the signs and symptoms of Type 1 and 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and prediabetes. Additional information was provided about healthy eating and how to monitor blood glucose. People learned about symptoms of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia and what to do if diabetes is suspected.
